Vanessa Black is a California born, New York based director, photographer and activist. Her work aims to humanize headlines in order to inspire aid in distressed communities.
Black directed six short films for former Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project for her series YOUTHFUEL. The broadcast received 16 million live viewers. Black was named Elite Daily’s first “Millennial’s Making Difference.” Black has been selected as Refinery 29 and Revlon’s BEAUTY NATION The New Provocateurs in Entertainment. Black has screened her work around the US and speaks often about the power of film as a catalyst for change and education. Black earned her Bachelor of Arts in Film Production from The University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.
